[21/2/16 2:12:51 am] Crys•Chris | Rice: MUR CONDUCTED AN EXPERIMENT AND SENT OVER 200 LETTERS OVER TO ME AND I STILL HAVENT GOTTENT THE FULL SET
[21/2/16 2:12:54 am] Crys•Chris | Rice: PLEASE EXPLAIN
[21/2/16 2:13:00 am] Crys•Chris | Rice: LOTS OF LOVE SHIROGEM AND MURMURLADE

Okay so long story short Mur had all these feathers and sent 200+ letters with his pro skills of clicking and I sent back 50 but neither of use even had the full set even if we put our inventories together.
You can see the list here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n2AI5hIZih6uzSLMd_Rmm87v-SuAEwa_H0dLL4LlsMc/edit?usp=sharing

Sorry if this sounds stupid and annoying but after 2500+ feathers we still aren't even able to get more than 2 backgrounds but i've got tons of duplicates of other small things so I'm wondering how this random item generator really works and how you space out the rarity of each item. o- o I'm also probably missing a thing or two that aren't bgs like one of the cupcake dresses (because there's 13 found so far on the item list but I've only gotten 12.) Sorry!

Lots of love,
Shiro and Mur

This honestly might be whining or complaining, and I'm sorry about that! But I (or we) really love all the items you create and we just want to be able to get our hands on them! (Or get them on our avatars haha)

Shiro said that the items are usually put in the store at the end of the event for a higher price, so a suggestion would be to maybe lower the price of the rarer ones?
If everything has an equal chance of being RNG'd and we just have really awful luck then it's fine, I suppose.
Also, I guess since Akuyi and Ryvvi(?) were able to obtain everything, now I'm just wondering how much they spent omg;;;

(Lowering the amount of items would be cool too, I guess. Less stuff to cry about.)

All in all, since this is site feedback, the event idea was super cute and I wish I'd gotten a head start on gifting! Really the only thing that bugs me is not being able to get all the items.

Thanks for reading! And sorry! /laughs nervously n runs away

I had made a list of my own to keep track of what I was still missing, but I like how yours is laid out......

*steals*
*runs away*

I believe it's all completely random and I want to say that just the backgrounds and the wings are rarer and everything else has the same chance of dropping. That being said, I have terrible luck too. I think that's really all it comes down to is luck. We just stink. Let's not play the lottery. or any casino type game. XD

If you are talking to me, please ping or quote me. I get distracted and lose track of what I'm doing easily.

np, mousy! thank shiro, she's the one who made it all neat while i just dashed everything out
(also i was wondering who that anonymous person on the doc was)

I've always questioned whether luck exists, but if it does, it just doesn't like me :^(
WAIT, maybe it's because I don't believe in it that I don't have it?! No no, I stopped believing because
I didn't have any.... *coughs*

true that! xD /waltzes into a casino, loses entire fortune, ends up organless in an abandoned factory in russia

I'm sorry you guys haven't been able to get a full set of items. Please remember though, they will be in The Lazarus for a bit after the event ends, so you can pick up what you are missing, or extras of whatever you want.
All the items (except for "rare" items, like the BG's and wings) have the exact same chances of being distributed. Between the "rare" items, there's a lower chance, but they each have equal chances of being dropped (ie: wings aren't "rarer" than the BGs, or the green BG isn't more likely to drop than the orange).

There are a lot of items this time. It's really hard finding a balanced number of items, and we're still fine-tuning it! I really appreciate your feedback. Here's some of the things we look at when deciding what/how much to release:

With a lower number, active members earn them too fast and get bored, but less-active users have the ability to earn them all during the event. We also used to release items (generic or event specific) in small batches, so that there would be a constant stream of items available, but we got a lot of feedback about how that method didn't "entice anyone to come by for very long", and that sort of thing.
With a higher number of items, very active users still have something to strive for, and will continue playing throughout the event, as we've seen in the past, many just play a day or two, get the set, then become inactive the rest of the event. However, less-active or newer members will have a hard time getting everything while the event is running, and may have not built up their feathers to purchase them at the end of the event. We tried to combat this by giving out feathers (and wings!) during many of the events, and running events longer, but even 3 weeks (as was the Novalia event) was too long for most users.

I try to make a variety of items for events so they "go with something"; (Ryvvi is always telling me I didn't make things in the same colour, or that there's nothing with the same theme), so we try to release a few items that coordinate with each other.

The amount of items this time was a little high, because other users helped complete her list recently, I don’t think Akuyi has all the items (I could be wrong), and I’m not sure about Ryvvi, but we had continued activity throughout the event (and there’s still one day tomorrow). 94 for two weeks is too many, but 31 for three weeks (or rather, a few days as it worked out) is too few. So we’re closer to working out the right amount, and we keep it in mind to adjust the next event!

Thanks for replying, Diana~!
I kind of figured the drop rates would be set like that since it's pretty common. It would definitely be a mess if they all had different rates hahaha..

And, ahh I didn't quite think about that! I guess I was okay with the Halloween event since you could choose which items you wanted after getting the coins. ...Reluctantly I admit there is fun to seeing what items pop out of a random item generator, and seeing as the value of items don't quite vary so much like say on Gaia... where was I going with this? It's better in that sense? And that the lack of items.. would also... in some way.. get people to post, whether it's complaining or for trading haha.. (sweats;;;;)

That makes kind of makes me wonder about the activity on Windlyn, for some reason. Does it maintain all throughout the year? Or does it spike up during events?

Nnnn, thanks for sharing those points anyhow! It's kind of scary to post a feedback topic that isn't necessarily good sometimes, pfft. I feel sort of better about it now though!
sorry if this post is a mess, but i kind of wanted to reply before I went to bed

There seems to be more items here than the Novalia event.

I think it's more of "The more items there are, the longer it can play out for without getting people bored."

The thing with the Novalia event is that I had gotten everything within a week or two because the number of items was lower than this one. This one has way more items and it's pretty intensely hard to collect all of the items in a week's time.

Here, I'd be fine with having three weeks seeing that there's so much items that I haven't collected half of them. (Granted, I didn't try too hard because I got caught up in my birthday and school and work.)
(No, I'm not saying that it should be 3 weeks, just saying.)

But, you would still have to figure out how long you could go with so many items.

Just throwing in my 2 cents.
