I was wondering if we'll be seeing body modifications in the future

I think Q means items that modify the vvay an avatars body looks

like a mermaid tail as an example

Things like mermaid tails will be just normal items (like a pants item).
It may be that in the future I add bases with different legs or arm style/thickness/shape/whatever, but I don't think it'll be like gaia where certain things are limited around it or clipped to it, or any of that.

Hmm but won't creating bases with different legs and arm styles be the same thing?
Also if you do make these base mods, they will still be limiting because not all items will be made for them, ne?
Or are you going to go back and re-make items to fit these new base mods?

No, I'm not going to remake items, that's what I mean.
I dunno, gaia does some weird things cause they have a lot of people working on stuff for them. But if you equip certain things, it either won't let you equip particular items or it will un-equip the body mod. I don't want to deal with that. Basically if you want to wear shoes and shorts over your centaur legs or mermaid tail, that's your choice, but they won't make sense or and probably wont line up.

Oh you were talking about the layers, I understand now.
Yeah that makes sense, it is a tad disappointing to have a limit to what you can equip.
I'm glad we'll have a lot of layers for that! ^^

Body mods would be nice, but I know they will probably still be a long ways away which is fine. I mean, it took Gaia ages before they dabbled with such things.
