mmm well, I haven't finished it yet, but it's taken place 1000 years in the future. Humans have psychic powers and live in small communities. They are born without power, but when they get it they get the title of adult. They go to a school that teaches them how to use it. If you don't get your psychic powers or if you show signs of becoming a karma demon or a fiend, the board of education disposes you. Kids are told stories of cats that kill you during the night. the group of friends, there are five of them, are in group one. which has been ordered to not be treated (you find this out later.) anywhoo~ the school makes all the kids camp for seven days. during the camp, the five friends go deep into the forest, they aren't allowed to, to look for (I think it was a fake death god?) don't remember what the name was. They catch this thing and it says its a library, they get it to answer their questions. The thing tells the kids about their peoples past and how they came to be. A monk or a priest (don't remember) found them and burned the library and took away their psychic powers, because that information and how far they went into the forest without permission was against the law. They were attacked by something rats, which are mutants and the 2nd smartest creature. the monk/priest dies and the kids get separated. 3 of the friends get away, the other two were saved by an opposing clan (of the same creatures.) The mutants that saved them think that the kids still have powers so they saved them and stuff. The 2 kids and the mutants were attacked by the mutants that attacked them earlier. the girl was able to restore the boys power. I'm to lazy to explain any more. So I guess its about the war between the mutants and the humans?

They are hiding a lot from everybody. A karma demon is a person who lost control of their abilities. they affect everything around them in a bad way. such as death or mutation. Kids who are kind, gentle, and reasonable have the highest chance of becoming one.
