No worries, I totally get it. Like most people I tend to want to help others if I can and never like seeing another having struggles, so when I hear (read) "bad" I just jump into help mode. I suppose that's been a big factor in how I answer these days... which is why I think it's funny how...

That's the funny thing about how most people answer the "how are you" question. For me I'll say everything is good when it really means nothing really bad is happening (meaning the approximate "normal" amount of bad is going on). :/

Not really. The old school classical quartet and chamber music guys didn't like the young disruptors. It's that old parents can't understand the appeal of music of the younger generation.

Fireplace good! They outlawed traditional fireplaces in new construction here in California. (You can have pellet stove/heater inserts last I recall, but they may have outlawed them too--many cities have banned natural gas appliances.) Lucky it doesn't get insane cold here because our power goes out...
