Re: [Giveaway][S] Aku's Event Items | New : Easter, Zombunea

Lemon: Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check out the shops. :)

I don't want to hog all the items so let me know if it's too much! If not, I have the feathers right now, so it seems easier trade them all at once if that's OK. :)

Re: [Giveaway][S] Aku's Event Items | New : Easter, Zombunea

Hello Aku! I'm not really a newbie so I'm not going to ask for freebies, but my account has been pretty inactive since I joined, so please forgive me if I ask newbie-ish questions. For example, I don't know the prices around here... but I think I read that you are doing 20 feathers a piece for event...

Re: Chocolate Cravings?

Although it seems like baking anything in a microwave should never yield good results, I keep seeing recipes like this, and they tempt me because they look so easy compared to actual baking. I'll have to try this out sometime!

Re: Favourite kind of food?

I get burnt out on sweets really fast! I used to be able to eat a whole package of Oreos in a sitting, but now that I'm older, I'll eat two and then get sick of them.

Savory snacks, however, I'll go to town on. Give me a package of pita bread and a bowl of hummus and it will be gone in under an hour.

Re: I don't like my options.

If Bernie Sanders is the Democratic nominee, I will be voting for him. He is the most radical liberal candidate we have seen in a long time, and while you're right that the president doesn't get to make exclusive decisions about almost anything, his campaign alone has already helped to spread his id...

Re: I'd eat that dog.

Balcan: I share the same view on arguments. I am much more moved by facts and logic than by emotion, although that wasn't always true of me. I was eleven years old the first time I really thought about where my food comes from, and my decision to become a vegetarian at that time was largely fueled b...

Re: I'd eat that dog.

Well, I'm vegan, so all animals are off-limits for me, but I agree completely with the premise that no species of animal should be more or less acceptable to eat than any other. I find it extremely hypocritical that many people consider themselves "animal lovers" when their love only exten...

Re: Discuss - circumcision a violation of human rights?

I don't agree with parents forcing religious views on their children at all, especially not when their views cause adverse effects on mental or physical health. For instance, Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in blood transfusions, so if the child of a Jehovah's Witness needed a blood transfusion a...

Re: What are you allergic to?

I am allergic to dust, mold, cats, probably dogs, and possibly pollen. No food allergies though, so I'm lucky there. And really, most of my allergies are excellent excuses to avoid cleaning. xD

Re: On Rachel Dolezal and being "trans-racial".

I want to start by saying that I do not condone Rachel Dolezal's actions. To me, it seems less likely that she actually identifies as black and more likely that she wanted people to believe she was of African descent. A transgender person wants to be treated as their chosen gender, but they probably...

Re: Pipeline

In most of my computer science classes in college, there were 40 students and maybe 3 or 4 of them were women. And most of time, they didn't have the prior experience with programming and familiarization with computers that a lot of boys get. There are a plethora of reasons this happens, but the res...

Thank you guys!

@Shiro: Oh haha yeah, I have been on most of them. Right now I'm kind of bouncing back and forth between a few.

Re: Pipeline

I realized pretty quickly that this wasn't so much a game as an educational tool to show others what it is like to be a woman in a STEM field. I thought it did a great job of simulating the experience. A lot of men (like the boys in your class and lab group, your teachers and potential employers, an...
