Re: BJD owners unite!

Oh, the dolls are larger then I am imagining then1 It looks like you have furniture for them too? My dolls are around 60-65 cm tall. so, roughly 24-25 inches? Oh my, that is one cute face! Are you going to get her with the make-up? Or do you know someone who does faceups/are going to do it yourself?

Re: BJD owners unite!

Lemon, the zipper there is actually a totally regular zipper. Short and small, but usually used on pants. Today's photo shoot ended with this. A new teddy and some of the newer clothes. https://40.media.tumblr.com/da1cdd91684eb06d7072242a65903f81/tumblr_nstdyaY3HJ1ta3m6oo6_1280.jpg

Re: BJD owners unite!

^_^ I'm looking forward to it Kitalpha. Also really curious about which doll you're going to start with.

Lemon, sewing things in 1/3 scale is no joke sometimes. But it is good practice for human clothes.

Re: BJD owners unite!

To be honest, I have not been asked to make matching human and doll clothes so far. But since I use my own clothes leftover fabric sometimes I have a half matching outfit made by accident. :D https://40.media.tumblr.com/f2a3a6ac1812c27f1731e8b5b5924580/tumblr_n7plm1ugxG1ta3m6oo1_1280.jpg and this .

Re: Sewing

I've seen people use some sort of scale like beads in knitting to make scale-mail armor. Let me see if I can find it. Here it is
I imagine if you use aluminum cans and make sure the edges are not sharp, you could make any shapes you need. :)

Re: Sewing

Oh, that is one cool outfit! Are you making the armor bits too? :) Ryvvi, Thank you~ I will eventually make some real cosplay outfits, but only if I don't have a million uni papers to work on at the time :D Which is in 4 months! << I should make them based on a typical figure so that I can sell them...

Re: Sewing

Kitalpha, that's good news! All that you've mentioned sounds so interesting. Please do share progress pictures or at least the finished piece :D Ryvvi, since our fabric selection is quite limited where I live, I didn't attempt any specific characters yet. So these are just some generic maids like in...

Re: Sewing

<< For example people using the cheapest satin fabrics for the whole costume even though it has nothing to do with the clothes. And, satin is one of the hardest fabrics to sew. XD

Do you have pictures of the said costume? =3
