Pets Re-Naming

Pets Re-Naming

Postby Nami-Kinz » Tue Feb 09, 2021 11:29 am

Problem occurs at: pets.php?petid=1396

Previously when the pets died, owners that were to revive the pets would be able to rename them. However, that ability seemed to have disappeared recently. I had tried to get my pets to die naturally for 3 times in order to revive just to rename them, but all trials had failed as only a browser pop up message would appear.

I don't recall renaming after revival ever being a feature. :/

I don't ever recall being able to rename our pet, even if you adopt it the name stays the same. When you first name your pet there is a warning pop up that states once named the pet can not be renamed -( so choose carefully).

I would recommend you hatch another of the same pet and call it the new name.

If you do not want the pet with that particular name then consider adopting it out. Or keeping it as a grave stone because you can equip those to your avatar.

Hah, they say the mind is the first to go... I can't remember the second...

So it works for you now and it is a member specific problem?

Wow, that never happened when I had to revive my fish. It's sound like it says the same thing as when the pet first hatches. Is that only since the last update issue?

Renaming pets isn't something I implemented. Being unable to rename the pet after they die is unintentional. After all, isn't that more like just getting a new pet to replace your old one? Lol

My best guess of what is happening with these is that a pet hatched and immediately died (so sad!) before you got to name it, then naming is available once they are revived.

Since something weird happened and it was confusing, I'll set your Ursus to an "unnamed" state. You should be prompted to name it next time you visit it's page. :)

Galled Diana It appears to be a member specific issue. Because when Nami hatch the Ursus egg, no site notification (whereby it asks which name you'd like your pet to be named as) appear, instead it just refreshes the page, causing the pet to have whatever name the RNG happened to decide on.
This hatching and unable to name issue happened to another user named Lightning too, but hers was able to be renamed when died. As for the rest, this issue have never happened so far.

@Lemon I believe it may be way back before the last update, according to the date of Lightning's first brown bear that hatched.
