Hope you are feeling better, Arc ... eat small amounts...sometimes an empty stomach causes nausea.

You probably know, but candy will make it worse. Get well first!

Thanks! I feel a lot better this morning. I haven't been eating much, so that's probably contributing to me feeling sick.

Oh no!
Working in a medical field AND at a university you are exposed to so many germs.

Take care! Get rest, chicken broth is usually good. Can someone bring you things? Rest helps.

Unless you are pregnant, then crackers help.

I still wear masks at work, but 99.9% of the students and patients don't. We have them for people, but no one wants them. Instead, they'd rather opt for coughing and sneezing in the atmosphere. I wouldn't doubt that I picked something up in the few instances I lifted my masks. I also went to a Halloween party on Friday, so that probably didn't help. And neither does the cold weather. I think I'll make soup this weekend. And nope, I'm not pregnant.

The main thing to do is to wash your hands before touching your face or before eating.

Wearing masks won't help if the germs on your hands get into your mouth or nose.

Soup is always good on cool days.

I just mentioned pregnant because MOUSE announced on her thread that she is pregnant!!

True, true. I sanitize my hands often and wipe down my desk, keyboard, mouse, pens, clipboard/forms, and signature pad with disinfectant wipes about twice a day. I guess germs still linger everywhere. @-@

And awww, that's exciting! ^^

I think like all things in life moderation is the key. If you insulate yourself too much from germs your immune system doesn't get "exercised" and if a body part is not-used it becomes weaker (use it or lose it is another life truism). The body is constantly doing a balancing act of conservation of energy and will dedicate resources elsewhere. I'm not saying go out and get yourself sick, but small interactions with "bugs" is actually a good thing. The idea that if germs can be bad so zero germs is better is misguided IMHO. :/

I understand. I'm not an insane germophobe, I just don't feel comfortable. It makes me feel better when my space is disinfected, and I'm sure I come into contact with germs no matter where I go.

That's good! And it's good to feel uncomfortable to a certain level (keeps you aware). There were insane germophobes before COVID (and there always will be), but the number of people masked up, gloved up, with safety glasses, body covered virtually completely I see out in public these days is quite remarkable. I'm glad you're not like that!

I always been a germophobe myself, but I've done OK so far in my life without all of the extra extras and don't see the need for them now (of course before we knew what we know about COVID it was different situation). The basic remove yourself from anyone coughing or sneezing and/or who say they're feeling funky, don't get too close to strangers (a good all-around habit anyway), and as lemon said don't touch your face unless you've washed your hands first seems to cover most of it for me. Everyone is different of course and if your job requires you to see sick people and such I would imagine changes the equation.

Are you feeling better today?
