This is all very helpful/ useful information. Thank you. :3

It seems like most of the back and hip pain are subsiding, now my back muscles are just tight from doing the stretches everyday. I hadn't been able to sleep well since last Monday because of the pain, but the other night I actually slept pretty decently, so that lets me know I'm getting better. ^^

We're so happy you're moving in the right direction!

Hate to tell you this, but just so you know, it can take a looong time to normal (no pain/discomfort while going about your everyday life). I once injured my back so badly (stupid Steadicam accident) it literally took months to get back to normal (no pain/discomfort). The trick is to not injure it again (or you'll do the two steps ahead and 1 step back thing).

Again, glad you're feeling better. It'll just take time, but you'll get there!

That's unfortunate to hear, but at least it's the honest truth. xD Do you still wear one of those back braces you mentioned in my other thread whenever you need to?

Yes, but haven't needed to in years (knock wood!). I am ultra aware of keeping my body aligned when bending over and as soon as I feel any lower back discomfort I'm back on the ground doing the stretches/exercise. It's conquerable! :)

I should add that those lifting belts are kind of like a stiff old-style girdle that women wore mid-century. They're elastic with stiffeners in the rib cage and back. The velcro allows you to ajust how much support you want.

Now that I think about it, the lifting belt allowed me to finish the shoot (wore it under the Steadicam vest--yeah, I know!). It wouldn't have been possible without it--it was just too painful.

Glad you are able to get in a comfortable enough position that you can sleep, Arc. I sometimes have to use pillows behind my back to rest on & one between my knees.

Ashton, try watching some detective shows. I just watched "Bodies", it kept my attention! Based on a comic book.

Or read a book, lots online ... or chat with a friend.

What do you feel like doing if you seen most of the shows or games you have played or whatever that pinged your interests? I have many side hobbies to keep me busy at different times.

Sounds like this belt works wonders. xD

I'm usually a stomach sleeper and I've been trying to adjust to sleeping on my back to avoid having problems again, but I don't think I've figured out how to fully get comfortable yet. @-@ Even with using extra pillows for support or trying to sleep on my sides, I just... sleeping isn't fun anymore. Surely I'll get used to both positions soon. @-@ I miss sleeping on my stomach.

I stopped sleeping on my stomach when I started having neck issues... I can only do it for short periods or I get a kink so I have to sleep on my side, and even that flip throughout the night.
[+] SPOILER
<plus sleeping on my stomach is uncomfortable for the boobies>

Now that I think about it, I had an older Dentist friend with severe back problems & he used to sleep in a recliner chair to relieve the back pressure.

Did this help him, or did he end up having any other issues like neck stiffness? :'o

Ha, what a coincidence. xD I really think the stretching is helping a lot, because I almost forgot that I hurt my back before. Yesterday my therapist asked how my back is and I was confused for a second until I remembered.
