The Doctor regenerates when he dies but his appearance changes each time.

Don't watch it from the very beginning with the black and white shows.(well, you can if you want). I suggest you start with the 9th doctor - Chris Eccleston - much more exciting from there.

<and of course everyone has their idea of who is their favorite Dr.>

It all intertwines.

You have to like science fiction because that is what this is. And a couple episodes are scary <don't watch the weeping angel ones...shudders>

Oh... what makes them scary? The plot, music or special effects?

You have to watch it to fully understand how it's scary. My friend had explained it once and I was all like "Pfffft, that doesn't sound scary at all!" NOPE!

It's the plot.

Shiro: I just realized you are under 18, so if your parents have restrictions they should be ok on you watching Dr. Who. You should sit and watch it as a family - we do.

The weeping angels is just intense because <everytime you blink> the angel statues move closer until they grab you and ....other wise Dr. Who is just about relationships, aliens trying to take over and going to other alien worlds, all while traveling through time in the tardis which is disguised as a British police phone box.
