I received a thoughtful gift just awhile ago from a user who's been very kind to me. My initial reaction after the surprise was "Wow! What can I give back to them?"
Flowers
Introducing giftable / cumulative currency to users as a way of showing appreciation. It could take on the emblem of a rose and be worth a certain number of feathers, for example 15, which deducts from your account. There could be three major flowers one could choose from, correlating to varying amounts.
Per Example: from a Rose, a Sunflower, and a Daisy.
Rose = 15 Feathers
Sunflower = 10 Feathers
Daisy = 5 Feathers.
If only one flower was feasible, I'd have to vote on either the Rose or Sunflower as being the representative. They're both easily recognizable, vibrant, and compatible with a fairly simple pixel design.
At any point in time should the user wish, they can trade in their flowers for the equatable feathers, whether that be entirely or partially. Regardless of what they choose to do, I think it'd be really radical for the total number of flowers gifted throughout the life of the account to be a visible detail to the public. Not only does the collection instill a sense of pride and accomplishment, it could motivate users to start their own by engaging in the site and being a larger participant.
Thank you all for the Read! *double thumbs up
