I'm sorry you guys haven't been able to get a full set of items. Please remember though, they will be in The Lazarus for a bit after the event ends, so you can pick up what you are missing, or extras of whatever you want.
All the items (except for "rare" items, like the BG's and wings) have the
exact same chances of being distributed. Between the "rare" items, there's a lower chance, but they each have equal chances of being dropped (ie: wings aren't "rarer" than the BGs, or the green BG isn't more likely to drop than the orange).
There
are a lot of items this time. It's really hard finding a balanced number of items, and we're still fine-tuning it! I really appreciate your feedback. Here's some of the things we look at when deciding what/how much to release:
With a lower number, active members earn them too fast and get bored, but less-active users have the ability to earn them all during the event. We also used to release items (generic or event specific) in small batches, so that there would be a constant stream of items available, but we got a lot of feedback about how that method didn't "entice anyone to come by for very long", and that sort of thing.
With a higher number of items, very active users still have something to strive for, and will continue playing throughout the event, as we've seen in the past, many just play a day or two, get the set, then become inactive the rest of the event. However, less-active or newer members will have a hard time getting everything while the event is running, and may have not built up their feathers to purchase them at the end of the event. We tried to combat this by giving out feathers (and wings!) during many of the events, and running events longer, but even 3 weeks (as was the Novalia event) was too long for most users.
I try to make a variety of items for events so they "go with something"; (Ryvvi is always telling me I didn't make things in the same colour, or that there's nothing with the same theme), so we try to release a few items that coordinate with each other.
The amount of items this time was a little high, because other users helped complete her list recently, I don’t think Akuyi has all the items (I could be wrong), and I’m not sure about Ryvvi, but we had continued activity throughout the event (and there’s still one day tomorrow). 94 for two weeks is too many, but 31 for three weeks (or rather, a few days as it worked out) is too few. So we’re closer to working out the right amount, and we keep it in mind to adjust the next event!
