Forum suggestion

This is where you should put any suggestions you have for a new forum Windlyn doesn't already have.

Please remember that the staff of Windlyn can't cater to EVERY suggestion, so please don't get upset if you don't see your suggestion happen right away.
Please refrain from posting your suggestion more than once. Again, if you don't see your suggestion happen right away, be patient! The staff of Windlyn is busy and cannot possibly get to every suggestion right away.

I'd love to have a General Discussion forum. I like to be able to post about things that just don't really belong anywhere else but also isn't considered Spam. c:

Oh yeah, a General Discussion would be kinda cool. I would like to do a type of "help" forum for general things about life and such. I think it'd be interesting. Thanks!

I figured an IRL forum would be for like life advice and whatnot.
but I was thinking like... a homework help forum might be good too. maybe merge them together? lol.

User-Run in most cases.

You'd need a dice roll or random number generator implemented.
Then a forum like Gaia's Exchange > Lotto/Money Games or Syndrone's Casino forum.
Users make games or threads for people to play games for currency.

I do like this idea, although I don't want us to take too many ideas from other sites. Even though it'd be hard not to without being redundant, haha.

But I've always liked the idea of a Casino-type thing. Gaia had one too, except not a specific forum for it. But you could do various things to bet for money. I'm not sure how well it would go over, considering we are working on having actual games and such. But it would be fun to do it between users instead of user vs. game. I'll talk to Diana about a Casino forum. Thanks!

I've owned/admined/moderated user-run casinos all over Gaia so if we had a casino forum, I'd probably open a really elaborate one. I have a name and banners picked out already that I never used! xD

That sounds fantastic! I'll honestly talk to Diana about it, because it would be nice to have something for people to do while we get the site up and running. Because currently, aside from chatting there's not a heck of a lot you can do. :c So it'd be cool to have something fun in the meantime!

Lime: Awesome! Do you have a trade system in place that I've missed? I know there's an option to donate but to make the casino run more efficiently and fairly, a trade system that holds a record of your recent trade history would seriously help.

That way if someone doesn't pay up on a bet, the user who got "scammed" could screenshot their trades to show they didn't receive it, or if someone accused someone of not sending it, the user who is being accused can screenshot a trade to show they did. Ya know what I mean?

Of course I am not asking you to implement this right away but it would help things run more efficiently for the users if a casino forum did happen.

We don't have a trade system in yet, that comes in after the shops. The donate feathers button works for giving currency to others (one sided trade,) and it records your recent transactions. (to view, click your #feathers in the sidebar, navigate to logs- the last tab.)

I have a games forum up, which I figure can include like.. dice games and the word/posting games.

Also put dice in, they're a bbc code (like when you use the full editor to post) you use the opening dice tag, #dice to roll, the letter d, and the sides of you want the dice to have. then the closing "/dice" tag.
