Kimmi x Mika 1x1: A Forbidden Romance

[Kimmi]

He smiled as they walked,"Please, don't look so terrified." He said gently,"Your in no trouble for what you said earlier. I was glad to see you were so excited about the opportunity. I saw how hard you worked around the castle and I had heard others say you loved to garden. So I thought maybe if I spoke to my parents, you could be doing something you would like to do instead of cleaning up the castle."

[Mika]

Hitomi looked up at him before glancing away again, "But why would Your Highness do something like that for someone he has never met? Let alone a simple house maid?" She couldnt understand why someone of royal blood would go out of his way to get some poor citizen a job that they wanted. There was nothing to gain from it... and it just seemed... unnatural? She needed some kind of answer for this kindness.

Bryan looked over at her,"I don't know what kind of royalty you expected, but I'm not the snooty kind who think they are better then everybody else. I don't care what kind of blood a person has, they should be able to do what makes them happy. I heard that gardening makes you happy and that's what I would like for you to do." He smiled,"You don't have to be so tense around our family you know. My mother and father think very highly of you as your such a hard worker."

[Mika]

"You don't understand...." Hitomi began quietly, "If other people see you being too friendly to someone outside your status, then..." She trailed off, not finishing her sentence. She had seen it too often, a pretty young house maid would catch the eye if a noble young man. She would gain his favor but it wouldn't amount to anything, it couldn't... In the end all she had was herself and her family. Everyone who would once associate with her wanted nothing to do with her after she had fraternized with the young man. Commoners though they were, they could be harsh on their own kind. She didn't understand the basis of it herself, but she understood enough to know that her talking to the prince like this was bound to get out somewhere.

He frowned and went quiet. Maybe making friends wasn't a good idea. Soon they arrived at the cottage. He showed her around and introduced her to the others before taking his leave, wanting to rest a bit before dinner.

[Mika]

Hitomi bowed politely and thanked the prince before he left. She was left there on her own with strangers that she would have to get to know. Unfortunately as she turned around to face the people she would now be living with, she could already tell by the looks on their faces that this was going to be a hard cover up for the prince escorting her. She quickly weaved together some false story that she hoped would satisfy their judgmental minds.
"Hey there, my name is Hitomi. I just got reassigned here today but nobody had told me me exactly where to go.... So when I came back with my belongings I found myself lost for hours.... I'm ashamed to say that they prince found me while I was busy getting lost and asked me where I was trying to go. He said he would show me the way and insisted upon it... He wouldn't let me refuse... So sorry I'm late guys, but I hope you won't mind my being here." She bowed politely again and then went off to her room to get things ready before it was dinner time.

Bryan spent the rest of the evening up in his room, reading a few more books and a few other things. He requested dinner bd brought up to him tonight so he could stay in his room and relax. He knew Hitomi would be happy as a gardener.

[Mika]

Hitomi had merely grabbed a couple of rolls for dinner that evening, all the other food seemed like something from some crazy dimension since she had never been able to eat any of it before. She took her rolls and skimped off to the garden since she had almost forgotten that she hadn't made a visit yet today. After spending an hour admiring the flowers as always, she went back to her new home and settled down for the night, not sure what tomorrow was going to bring.

Bryan finished his food, took a shower, and got ready for bed, his mind tired but busy. He hoped over time he and Hitomi could become friends, but he was unsure, not wanting her in trouble with any of the others.

Hitomi had overslept, awaking to a voice yelling at her to get out of bed already. The beds in the cottage were so much nicer than the one she had at home and it had worked on her when she went to sleep. She hurriedly got dressed and ran out of her room to be greeted by an irritated gardener who was stuck teaching her the ropes today. She apologized and followed him out of the cottage and to the garden that they would be working in. Her mind briefly thanked the Prince for helping her to get this job and she wondered if he would be watching her for some odd reason.

Bryan had been out and about, as a few guests were visiting the castle today. He was out with his mother and father, in another part of the gardens. He did notice Hitomi and the other gardener not too far from there, but her turned to focus on the conversations going on. His parents were in talks with another country about a possible arranged marriage since the prince had never been able to find a princess of his own.

[Mika]

Hitomi eventually caught a break from the teachings of her new housemate and noticed that the royal family had actually come out to the gardens with some company. She couldn't help but try to get just a little bit closer to eavesdrop on some of the conversation. She had caught something about setting up an arranged marriage before they walked a little further off where she couldn't get any further. Well, I guess an arranged marriage would make sense.... That's usually the case with royal families.... But the poor fellow won't know what he is in for until its too late...

Bryan found out it would be a princess he had been friends with as a child. He wondered if she would remember him or not. He listened in silence as arrangements for him and the princess to reunite at the castle were made and as her parents left. He was then excused to do as he wished.

Hitomi was once again at work, plucking the weeds and trimming some of the rose bushes back. There wasn't really all too much to keep up with as she came to notice. If this was done everyday then the upkeep was pretty simple, she could admire the flowers more as she went around checking on them.

Bryan had left his parents and gone to wander the gardens on his own. He went to a bench that had a large founatin in the back and sat down with a sigh. He didn't really want the arranged marriage, to be honest, but he hated trying to fight his parents on it. He wanted to marry for love, not to become king. He was at least glad he and the princess would get along. They were good friends as children.
