Kimmi x Mika 1x1: A Forbidden Romance

Name: Hitomi

Age: 23

Occupation: Maid

Bio: Hitomi was born to a family that was on the brink of poor. Her mother would go to work at the palace every morning before the sun would rise and would come home once it was dark. Hitomi learned at an early age that this was the only way the could maintain their meager living and so, as soon as she was capable of helping her mother, she too went to work at the palace when she turned 11. Her mother would tell her what to do and what not to do as well as tell her important things about certain parts of the palace. Hitomi followed in her mothers footsteps as a housemaid, cleaning the empty rooms of the palace to keep it tidy. Every once in a while Hitomi would get lucky and she would get to see the heir to the kingdom as he would walk by unexpectedly, even though she had to follow customs and bow. It was her foolish child like mind that thought it would be wonderful if she could talk to him one day. But that thought was fleeting and quickly replaced by her most exciting adventure of the day, as she would think about her late afternoon duty of tending to the gardens. As she had aged, she realized that she didnt want to be a housemaid, but instead preferred tending to the gardens more, but she could not get out of being a housemaid and so could only help tend to the gardens if she had spare time after her regular duties.

Bio: Miriah had been friends with Prince Bryan since her early childhood. Though later, she would become isolated from the nearby kingdom to prep for becoming a princess for her country. Her preparations took much longer than expected due to to her willful personality that she didn't want to hide. She preferred being carefree and open and becoming a princess was the exact opposite of who she really was. Upon her completion of her preparations, she was told that she would enter into an arranged marriage with her old friend Bryan, but she wasn't sure if that's what she wanted... Not to mention all the years apart from each other, who knew what Bryan had become.

Name: Bryan

Age: 24 years old

Occupation: Crowned Prince, next in line for the throne.

Bio: Bryan is the handsome son of the King and Queen, the one to take over if something happens to his father. He is a kind and polite young man, usually willing to follow the orders of his mother and father, who he is quite close to. As he grew, he would sometimes run passed a certain maid, Hitomi, and would try to chat with her, but she had always been so busy so he would leave her to her work. But he always wanted to get to know her.

Name: Gabriel

Age: 24

Occupation: the princess's personal butler

Bio: Gabriel has worked for the princess since he was ten years old, being told to serve her when he first arrived at the castle. He always wants to obey the rules but sometimes wishes he didn't have to. He does what he can to make the princess happy.

Hitomi had been up for five hours already and well into her work duties. She was currently working on hand scrubbing some floors in a guest bedroom on the second floor of the palace. She wagered she was about one third of the way through her work and she couldnt wait until she got done so she could go visit the garden and pretend that she was tending to it. Her family was too poor to have their own garden so she liked to dream that the unused palace garden was hers and hers alone. This thought kept her mind occupied as she hummed a tune, everwhile scrubbing the floor to shine.

Bryan was walking down the hall when he glanced into one of the rooms, seeing Hitomi hard at work. He smiled; He had heard that Hitomi had loved working out in the garden and had made an arrangement through his parents for her to be trained as the gardener. He entered the room,"Hitomi?" He said softly and gently, trying to get her attention.

[Mika]

Hitomi was still humming softly when the prince entered the room. At first she hadnt caught the first half of her name, but she did catch the last little 'omi'. She gasped quietly and fumbled with some words, "A-ah! Your Highness! I-im sorry! I didnt notice you there! Please, forgive me!" She glanced around in a frantic manner, knowing she was in no position to bow, so she just put her forehead to the wet floor and waited. She had quickly went to the thought of her mother constantly scolding her and telling her to always be mindful of her surroundings, but she had been negligent and wasnt paying attention.

[Kimmi]

Bryan smiled,"Don't worry, nothing is wrong." He said gently,"I had heard from others that you just love working in the garden. Well, I have talked to Mother and Father, and if you would like, you are to go and become a trained gardener for the royal family."

[Mika]

Hitomi face flushed in excitement as she heard the prince speak and she couldn't help but raise her head. "R-really!? N-no! I mean, thank you!" She couldn't help but let her excitement run wild as she expressed her gratitude to the man that stood before her. "I want to be a gardener! Does this mean that I won't have to be a housemaid anymore!?" She caught herself quickly and apologized, "I'm sorry! It wasn't supposed to sound like that. It would be an honor to work as a gardener."

He smiled and nodded,"Yes you will no longer be a house maid." He said, glad to see her so excited,"You will be staying with the other gardeners in their home just that way." He said, going to the window and pointing it out to her. It was a large but lovely country cottage like house,"I'm sure the others will be happy to have you. They know how much you love to garden."

[Mika]

Hitomi paused for a moment before slowly getting up from the floor and looking out at the cottage that she had never been able to enter. "I will have to live there....?" She asked, more to herself than to the prince. She had never been away from home before, but she couldn't help but think that it might help her parents afford a better living if they didn't have to worry about an extra mouth to feed. She knew this would be a big change for her, but on the upside, she could finally say she had a garden even if it was for the palace. "When do I start the gardening training?" She asked the prince, still eyeing the cottage.

[Kimmi]

"Well you don't HAVE to live here." Bryan said gently, sensing she might be a bit worried,"And you can start any time you like. Mother insisted you take the rest of today off to decide if you want to live there or at home. And if you choose there, to get your things from your home and get you moved in. I also offer to go with you if you have things from home you would like to get."

[Mika]

Hitomis' mouth almost dropped open from shock! "A prince shouldn't be just going around and helping carry luggage! That's not normal!" She argued before she realized that she was yelling at the prince. "Please forgive me! I have forgotten my place! I ask to take my leave Your Highness," she said quickly with a curt bow before practically running out of the room. She cursed herself for forgetting the primary rules of her job and letting her personal thoughts get in the way of acting properly towards the royal family. She left work early, running out of the palace grounds, back to her home so she could think about her decision.

Bryan smiled and let her go, knowing she would be very excited. He spent the rest of the day seeing to his own royal duties, then used some free time to ride his horse, practice some swordfighting, and read a couple of his favorite books. He looked forward to hear of the girl's decision.

[Mika]

Hitomi waited until her father came home from his job at the mill which had given her plenty of time to think things over. She told her father that she would be leaving home to go stay within the palace grounds, that she had been given the opportunity to become a gardener in training. She had already packed a small box full of what little bit of belongings she held dear along with what few sets of clothes she had. She told her father to to let her mother know what she was doing and that she would try to visit her when she could during the day. With everything set in motion, she picked up her small box of things and hesitantly walked out the front door to their small living arrangements and headed for the palace for the second time today. Her excitement began to build with every step that she took back towards the palace. Here I come! Just you wait garden!

Bryan was just coming downstairs to go for a walk in the garden when he saw Hitomi return. He smiled,"So I assume you have made your decision?" He asked,"Allow me to walk with you to the Gardeners' Cottage so I can introduce you to the others you will be sharing with."

[Mika]

Hitomi's face flushed as the prince offered to escort her to the cottage, "O-okay then... if that is what His Highness would like," she said, embarassed on how things seemed to turn out. She couldnt help but think back to what she had said to him earlier when she had yelled at him about princes not carrying luggage around... She turned her gaze to the floor as they walked, trying her hardest not to think about her actions from earlier in the day.
