I like when I think I know the answer & then there is a twist, that if you were paying clos attention might have caught, but comes as a surprise.
But the ones where they have a twist ending but don't make sense or it was from something that they had not mentioned or given a possible clue to then those are frustrating.

Do you do summer activities?
Our weather has been so beautiful I have been trying to expand my garden.

I help my dad go cut grass, sometimes. Well this year's been weird, so I haven't helped as much as I usually do
( Because I had to do other things like shower or dishes or take care of my sister).
-
I'm not really good in the heat either and soon I'll have something else to do.

Growing things you want to grow must be satisfying. Maintenance is not fun if it takes too long.

Ooo, a new job?

Well sort of but like helping my dad cut grass, it is a Seasonal Job. Soon, I will be working at My Local Renaissance Faire. Or at least, I hope I will be ^_^ !! I need to check the clothes that I have to make sure they are alright condition. They probably definitely need to be cleaned xD !!

Sounds like fun! Our local Renaissance event happens when it's the hottest time of the year. The clothes from that time period are not conducive for staying cool! :distress: I admire the dedication...

Yeah, I understand that. there is about 3 Ren Faires in my State.. One happens between May & June and another started at the beginning of July ( goes for 3 weekends this year) and finally The One that I work at happens in Sept goes into Mid-Oct.. So it more so get colder not hotter but sometimes the first few weeks are hot af.. Last time, I was on Cast(2023) one of the Princesses almost got Heat Stroke > they manage to get it when she was in the beginning stages and manages to stop it.. So she didn't have to leave.. She just had to cool off and they gave her plenty of stuff to fight it and it worked. But Yeah, Heat + Ren Faire Costumes = yikes.
-
And if your curious how I handled the heat > That day I had a water bottle full of water and I added Hydration powder to my water and drink about 3? I think but I don't remember too much as happened since then xD !!
-
I plan ion getting Hydration powder again this year.. OH! Sorry, I rambled on and on and on

So much velour (heavy felt), long sleeves and long dresses. Leggings? Oh, and have to have a least a few layers! Ahghh.. heat!

Heat stroke is no joke! (Did that rhyme?!) Glad the princess made it OK!

No worries, glad to hear you're on it!

I only saw one person wear Velour and that was at the May/June Ren Faire but he made it through ok. Long Sleeves yes- long dresses, yes- Leggings yes- but not all on one person.. My Costumes weren't super heavy but it still was really hot ( I was on Cast for 3 years- missed last year- but I think I'll be back on Cast this year)..
--
Yeah me too!! Yeah, I'll try my best ^_^ !!
--
For My costumes, Since I own pants, leggings and boots I was allow to wear them but I had to use a shirt, a hat and either a jacket thing, a surcoat? and the last time it was a Doublet.. idk what it'll be this year, I need to tell the director my two character ideas ( though there's one I like better xD )

By "pants" you mean more like shorts (some above the knee and some just below) and long socks covering the rest of the legs, right?

Oh, a shirt AND a jacket!

I think the queen has it the worst. At our local one, the queen would periodically walk through. In between I bet she gets out of wardrobe and cools off in an area that has a lot of fans to recover. While it always seemed kinda cool to live in that era, when I think about it practically, nope! :)

Again, you have to admire the dedication!

Actually the pants I speak of > the correct term for them is: Breeches
-
Breeches: a knee-length pair of pants or trousers common in the 17th century.
-
No I have leggings under my Breeches but I also would be wearing normal socks.
--
Yeah The Queen and The Princesses Do have it pretty bad..
That's why I'm happy, that I get to wear pants xD !!
The former costumer, last time I was on cast, told me:
"I think you feel more comfortable in Masculine clothing then Feminine clothing."
-
And That made me feel seen ^_^ !!

Renascence faire always seemed like it would be fun to be able to be part of, and not just being the spectator.

Why is it they seem to choose the hottest month to host the faire?

The amount of layers & binding , restrictive clothing the women had to wear back then is insane .. I think the "peasants" had it a little better without all the heavy cloth & frills... styles were really cool looking though!
