I bet you have learned to be creative in your diet! Are you able to cook? I had a friend who lost her sight from diabetes (she just saw shadows) but she would still make herself a coffee or cut up vegetables even!

Sadly, I’m unable to cook. My right hand is about as useful as a spatula - and a broken one, at that - and my left is below average strength. I can’t safely carry most things.

My mom prepares my food (I live with my parents), and I’m so thankful for her. She’s very careful with my diet. I probably would have died by now if not for her.

The highly restrictive diet started in May, so it’s still new to me!

Got to love parents that watch out for us!
I have had success with regaining strength from physical therapy. Have you tried physical therapy to regain muscle strength? It is slow going, and some of the exercises seem so silly, but I have had a lot of success. Although my problems have been work related. But I had gotten to the point I couldn't even pull up my pants with one of my hands.

Come check out my newbie thread! You seem to be finding your way around the site but if you have any questions just ask!

Hi! It’s nice to meet you!

I have a neurodegenerative disease. I do a bit of physical therapy to slow the muscle wasting, but some things, like my right hand, are too far gone.

Ooh, okay, I’m going right over!

oh, I am so sorry to hear that...but maybe you will be able to put a positive spin on it by giving hope and encouragement to others. From what I am reading you seem to be a very caring person!

I try to be kind, but I do like to joke my New Year’s Resolution will be becoming 2% nicer, like the milk. I do like finding little joyful pockets of the internet, so it’s super nice to be here. C:

Believe me...we LOVE when people come on and post! Some just come on and play the games and others to just take care of their pets...which is ok...but it is more fun to get to know them.

I just wish I was more confident in real life with it! I don't always know what to say to break the ice.

I am so incredibly awkward in real life, haha. Now I insist on an email conversation first if I can get away with it. Deafness helps there - I say I want to explain my communication difficulties and establish a method of communication.

...I still end up talking about the weather.
