I think the need for mobility also depends on the breed of dog

As well as the age, probably.

hmmmm... if you keep all other factors constant does breed decide personality?

figures! my.. er, friend has a really angry looking doberman but he's a sweetheart. one of the first dogs to not make me run for the hills screaming.
....except he's a bit weird, he likes to sniff people's butts?
the other dog, this little fluffy cute thing. i forgot the breed, but he's so fluffy and tiny! he's an absolute monster. biting and running and barking like hell. jesus.

Yup, Breed certainly influences personality. Different dogs were bred for different things so they have somewhat different first instincts generally.

And yeah, little dogs XD Little dogs tend to be yappy and barky in my experience. I think it's little guys trying to act tough or something. They're tiny and wimpy relatively and know it. So they try to be more fierce to make up for it. Maybe. Hard to say.

Admittedly, if they're biting like crazy... maybe it's a training issue, or it can be something else. Fear of you. *shrugs*

smol but fighty, as my friends would like to say.
but it's hard to thinking of endearing when they have your hand in their mouth.

...
fear of me? dear god no, im the one that's terrified.
ive only met 3 dogs so far that don't try to kILL ME FROM THE GET GO: doberman, fighty tiny dog, and a mop dog.
the one that's so fluffy it looks like a mop.
that doge was so lazy.... doesn't give a crap about anything tbh. his owners would just move him around the house like some kind of floor cleaning mat because he never got up xD

Hm... I don't really have that much of a problem with small dogs. But then again, I don't generally meet small and fighty dogs. My little dog is small and barky and growly, but doesn't bite much. He's food aggressive because he was a stray that probably starved some when he was young. So he's paranoid bout his food.

Well, it *could* just be the dog is vicious. I dunno much about dog psychology, so I can't say for sure. I've never met a dog that tried to kill me. Most of them have been big friendly lunks that like to run up and sniff you and or jump on you for pets. Or little friendly punks that run up and sniff you and whine and beg for pets.

Leeeel, mop dog is hilarious!
