It's kind of funny actually, I studied japanese in college for 3 years, and in year 4, the normal fee for the class covers a trip we take to Japan. But, I opted out because I don't want to go to Japan in a tour and be irritating and not really enjoy my experience. And because of differences in thinking, I don't really get along with Japanese people a lot of the time. But, sometimes I meet one that's really cool. So, I dropped out of it all. I only studied because I like japanese television. The dramas are a lot more up beat, and real world based. So, it's easier to understand them on a personal level.

That sounds pretty cool. I can understand why you dropped out. Visiting a country with friends or family can make your experience much different then when your there as a class tour group. You still learned enough to use it for what you initially planned, so it's a win win still, ne? ^^
