Avatars: I am confused

I am so sorry I am about to sound like the biggest noob that ever noobed in the history of noobs.

So I just registered, like 2 minutes ago, and the first thing I went to do was fix my avatar. To see what kind of items and whatnot you get just starting out. But there's nothing there, not even a base? Do you have to buy everything just starting out or is my computer being dumb?
I'm sorry I'm so embarrassed oh goodness

Yes you have to buy everything at the shop first.
Then you go to your avatar to put on whatever you want.

You have to buy the items even though you're a starter, but everything is super cheep and you get feathers (feathers are the sites currency: ) for joining and you can earn more by posting or participating in events, so no worries there~

SS sells skin/face/hair, the twice handled shop sells normal clothes, and the Lazarus sells event items.

I think Lime said they will make a starter set eventually, but for now we just have to start from scratch! It's kind of fun I think

Hi, thanks for your question! Good to see someone making use of our Help forum!

Right now unlike other sites, we're only in Alpha mode. So there's quite a few features we have yet to implement, since we're extremely busy and there's only two admins who work on this site and it's features. In the future we'll be able to have a premade base (and possibly starter items) when you log in for the first time, but right now we haven't been able to get around to it.

Although to make up for it, we do give users a good sum of feathers and cheap items in the shops to get an avatar made quickly and easily for the time-being. Hope that helps, thanks!

you have to buy stuff from the stores. the store with the red S and S symbol has all of the body and base things

You have to buy bases/items/etc... at the shops: http://windlynonline.com/cgi-bin/forums/shop.php?type=3 There isn't a new user avatar setup at the moment so you have to buy everything, but it's relatively easy to earn money on here.
After buying items, you can click on Avatar to go to your inventory/closet to start your character customization.
