Wisdom Teeth Trouble

Postby Hocus Pocus » Mon Oct 12, 2015 8:54 pm

D: I'm probably going to have to get my wisdom teeth out soon. I have been having pain for over a month, which at first I didn't even know it was related to my teeth. I am totally scared to. I have a consultation appointment tomorrow afternoon. I have a very tiny mouth so I'm just a bit terrified of people cutting inside it.

I'm afraid to have mine out for the same reason. I keep praying they grow in straight and fit in my mouth.

Lemon Cheesecake Seems to have the low-down on wisdom teeth.

Small mouths seem to be the natural enemy of wisdom teeth. Mine are half in, but they can't grow anymore with some serious issues, at least that's what I'm thinking. I don't have anymore gum left in there. lol

I have one starting to grow, the rest are hiding. It's right up against where my jawbones meet though, so I'm scared. :(

Mine are like that too. I'm hoping it won't effect my bone negatively. I'll tell you what they say tomorrow since we have similar teeth growth!

If you are around 18 then your roots on your wisdom teeth generally have not completely formed which makes it easier for extracting.

There are people who never grow wisdom teeth at all or only grow some of them.

I don't even know if I have grown mine. If I did, then I'm apparently lucky enough to not have them hurt me.

Mine only started hurting a month ago. Granted they've been growing for years now. Lucky!

Monkeygirl you can easily tell, look in the mirror and see how many molars you have on each side on top and bottom. If you get a panorex xray taken then the Dentist can tell. The new digital xrays are so cool because they can do a 3D angle ( but they run about $100).

I'm so bad at identifying teeth, that I don't know what molars look like.

I mean, they might not even grown in, but I am 20. Around the age my older sister got hers removed.

your molars are the big ones in the back that you chew with, the last ones in your mouth. generally you have 2 on each quadrant (section of your mouth).

Usually around the age of 18, give or take a couple years, they start moving towards your gum surface. (Some people 16 some people not until their 20's. Generally by 25 the roots are all formed and so they stop "growing").
