i could not get a picture of it the other night [shakes fist at phone camera], but the crescent moon (curving downwards), aligned with jupiter and venus to form a straight line!

Look at the moon and you'll see a couple of really bright stars (they're planets!) inline with the moon. You can infer from the "line's" angle to the horizon how much the earth's axis is tilting in relation to our orbital plane. :)

Astronomy is fascinating! Although it makes me realize that I'm tiny and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, that only increases my sense of awe and wonderment!
