Mamaw had a Medicare aid come out recently and she said she's gonna check in on letting me get paid via the state to take care of mamaw.

Idk how much I will get but she is getting a number for me and volunteered to be a ref and I am super excited because, even if it isn't much, I'll still get something for it at least.

You should at least get minimum wage but maybe more for the health field... hope it works for you!

Well, my SSN is mine, but supposedly I have a mortgage. I'm just hoping mom misread it
Though how it'd be under my SSN and not my name too idk
And why someone would accept credit from someone who has bad credit from medical bills I really don't know
._.
But we went to the local SS office and they printed out a letter that says yes, that SSN is Kit's
Guess I gotta get a credit report

I can't even join the social security site yet because I don't have one and the three sites mom tried to get me one from wouldn't let her get them. Fishy?

I've had my card for years
So I got a letter confirming that it was my number

But the mortgage though...

Good job with making progress!

It's really starting to sound like ID theft. It'll take time, but you can clear it up. While it may not seem like it, happening to you now/early is a good thing. It'll be much easier to prove what's not yours.

If you can't get your credit reports, you'll have to call each of the credit service and tell them you think you're a victim of ID theft. They'll offer to freeze your account and by law have to send you a copy of your credit report because you've been denied credit (denied a job) and subsequent investigation indicates someone has a mortgage with your SS number.

Some yahoo was trying to get credit cards with my info once and I went through the whole process. It's a major pain, but like I said, better now than later when things are much more complex.

That said, also be very wary of using any credit repair/ID theft services. You don't want to pay anything to fix this and they're all scams because you can do this yourself. It just takes time and persistence.

Oh the plus side I have to go into tomorrow for paperwork. Orientation on Monday
What happened? Somewhere along the lines someone flipped a couple of numbers in my SSN
Background check came in clean this time
Oops for flip but yay for being easy fix
Mom was emailing them about it. Worst part of the flip? We couldn't see it cuz the first five numbers were X-ed out (so, you know, instead of reading 000-00-0000 it read XXX-XX-0000) o.e
Sorry if that's someone's actual SSN (I think if there is, they're dead anyway)

Still gonna get a credit report in to see what's up with the supposed mortgage though

I hope so. I know that it can be common around here and it's supposed to pay enough that a person caring for a person, can live on if they live meagerly from what I know. Which, honestly, is pretty good since my parents don't force me to pay rent and I am looking into going back to college on government aid.

I just really, really hope this can go through until then, though.
