Venus & Mars will be near the crescent moon tomorrow 6/21 for summer solstice

"EarthSky reports that Wednesday’s crescent moon, which will have the “Da Vinci glow” or Earthshine, will take center stage in this event. Just after sunset, the moon will rise and Venus will shine brightly to its lower right side. Mars, which is dimmer than Venus due to its size and distance from Earth, will appear to the upper left of Venus — almost in between the moon and Venus."

Ooooo

I prefer "Earthshine" as a name over "Da Vinci glow"

Anyway I'll have to remember to look at the sky tonight

I agree, earthshine sounds more intriguing.

I know you like the crescent moon best so thought it would be a fun thing for you to look at, Npix.

And your avatar seems appropriate for the occasion.

The moon was to the back of our house usually it is on the other side. I could only se Venus & not Mars.

You can search moon rise to find out what time the moon will be up. Venus was pretty bright & it looked cool with binoculars.

Full supermoon this weekend - Sunday & Monday ... Its called a Buck moon.

"The Buck Moon got its name because the antlers of male deer, or bucks, are in full growth mode at this time of year. Deer lose their antlers every winter, and they regrow antlers in the summer, getting larger with every passing year."

So ... I didn't know deer lose their antlers & regrow them.

Me neither! That's cool!

Actually, that means you could get antlers as decoration without hurting them

A bit of a relief since I thought people only got antlers from dead deer (buck).
