It's probably ok to play with someone's pet that is in the adult stage but you may want to ask in case, like myself, they want certain pets at certain stages. I don't want to evolve all mine but I also don't want to have to pay to give them the youth potion to keep them at the particular level. If you have pets at different stages then you can equip them as different items.

Cilencio ~ yes, I started to feed & clean to help them along. Normally I don't want to spend the feathers but I forgot bears take so long to become adults that i felt badly it was going to take forever by just playing with them!

Vaughn ~ congratulations on your first pet! I have sent you an immortality potion (which also can be worn as a necklace). Click on the pet then on the bottom right it should show immortalize and click on that button & it will automatically feed it to your pet. First it will ask you if you are sure, though.
