Stress Relief

Postby Diana » Tue Feb 09, 2016 10:19 pm

I've seen a lot of talk around the forums about being stressed lately. It's a bummer that life gets busy, but how about we spin the topic in a different direction? :)

What do you do to help you unwind when you're stressed?

Do you like to relax in the tub with bubbles or some fancy fizzy coloured things?
Do you read a book? Eat? Take a nap? Go out shopping?

For me I think it's watching a movie, TV show, or going out to eat. Or really just not doing the thing that's stressing me so much. Though, I'm the kind of person to stress the most about getting things done on time and in the right order, so the relaxing only happens after the stressor is gone anyways.

I draw to relieve stress, but more like mindless doodling. C:

A stress reliever for me is going outside and pulling weeds or digging in the dirt.

To relax I like to lay on the couch and watch a show...sometimes I even fall asleep that way.

cooking/baking is a stress buster too if I am making something I want to eat.

whine...actually talking to someone does help relieve pressure, especially if they help to put things in persepctive or just let you let off steam and ask you if you feel better now.

I'm a good sleep and good think person. The first usually helps the second.

Of course there are those things that you totally have no control over. It took me a long time to take it to heart, but if you have no control over it, there's no use in worrying as it won't help. Just plan the best you can, otherwise let it go. Which usually leads me back to a good sleep! :)

100% nap. Avoidance is the best policy. XD

Actually, things really stress me out in the days before a deadline because I can't focus or come up with ideas or I come up with too many ideas, but the night before whatever I need done is due? I can crank it out! I just get really overwhelmed with too many ideas and if I wait until the last minute, I have to just pick one and run with it. It usually ends up pretty good. Haha!

I'll also take a "bower" sometimes. A bath/shower. The shower head is on, but the tub is stoppered. You just sit there on the floor in your steamy misery until you feel better.

If you are talking to me, please ping or quote me. I get distracted and lose track of what I'm doing easily.

I used to like to soak my feet in a hot tub of water and read a book. I should start to do that again...

I wish I had a bathtub... but I just take 5 minute showers everyday to save water. Especially since I find myself thinking about some really serious stuff and then get depressed if I stay inside for too long. ovo Maybe it's just me.
