One more reason not to live in another time period

I think there were some decades where I would really have vibed with the cultures, think maybe sixties or seventies, but as a trans woman I think I should be more oriented towards future than past. Transition was even harder to come by back then, and the modern version has only been around for about a century. I want to go forward to whenever reality is like Star Trek.

If we could travel in space, like Star Trek, that might be a time period I would be interested in. In star trek (Kirk & beyond) I believe there is no poverty, no starvation and lots of opportunity.

But if we could travel in space but the worlds were like the Expanse series then I am not so sure I'd want to be in that time period. Even water is a precious commodity & people have to labor, with little chance to advance themselves.

I second Star Trek! It's a future full of optimism and humans excell by understanding and harnesing their faults.

I really think a lot of the silliness humans perpetrate on one another would stop once everyone realizes we are not alone in trhe universe.

I don't know about how it would be for everyone else

But for people with mental disabilities and disorders like myself, living in the past would be bad

Either it'd be medieval times where we're not treated for anything and are ostracized even more

Of it'd be somewhat more recent but still in the past where they'd just send you to an asylum

I'm watching the show Nirvana in Fire ... based during the Tang dynasty I think and it is so cold there that you see the actor's breath ... and they are inside their homes! Makes me glad to have my heating !

People have lived for thousands of years with no indoor heating system, just fire places or wood stoves.

I do think the Romans hot water heated flooring system was probably a luxury.
