Once again I looked too late! But I did see the full moon!

"Traditionally, the full moon in July is called the Buck Moon because a buck’s antlers are in full growth mode at this time," according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. "This full moon was also known as the Thunder Moon because thunderstorms are so frequent during this month."

There will be an eclipse July 4 11:45 ET.

Comet Neowise, discovered in late March by a space telescope, is going to be visible with the naked eye You can see the Neowise comet from anywhere in the UK for the rest of July, astronomers say.

"ormally named C/2020 F3 , the comet was first spotted by the NEOWISE space telescope on March 27 and will reach its closest point to Earth on July 23.

To view the comet in the UK you'll need to stay up late as it is best viewed at about 02.30 BST in the north-east sky anywhere in the country."

Check when the sighting is for your area MissAutumn, ours is switching from dawn to dusk now. 7/23 is the closest it comes I believe.

I couldn't see it by looking with my eyes but I took my binoculars and looked around beneath the big dipper and wala there it was! Not as big as the Hale-bop (was that what it was called?) which looked like a flashlight shining in the sky.

Meteor shower coming up!
"The Delta Aquarids and the Alpha Capricornids meteor shower will coincide on the evening of Tuesday, July 28 through Wednesday into the early morning. Viewers can expect the combined shower to produce about 20 to 25 meteors an hour."
"The Delta Aquarids meteor shower persists through mid-August and typically consists of long glowing trails due to the angle they enter the Earth’s atmosphere. The Alpha Capricornids typically peak in late July and are characterized by bright fireballs, but occur around five per hour or less."
