When I quote something, from online, my family always teases me if I got it from wikipedia. So the reference was in light of that and was meant as a joke...

According to Webster: SANDWICH. 1. a : two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between.

And a hot dog is a piece of meat in a split roll for the most part, lol.

Don't you call a hamburger without the burger a bun? And hamburgers are considered sandwiches.

Hot dog is a piece of meat in a split bun, thus making it a sandwich, as said by a dictionary definition of sandwich which I posted earlier, lol.
