A thread about pumpkins... impress us with what you know about pumpkins!

http://www.msn.com/en-us/health/wellnes ... ss-AAfh4Xw

[+] SPOILER
When fall arrives, so does its signature squash: pumpkin. While you might only be familiar with pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin pies, pumpkin has more to offer than just fall desserts. Its vitamin- and nutrient-rich flesh and seeds have an abundance of health benefits, from weight loss to better quality sleep. "Pumpkin seeds are a great super food that most people don’t talk about outside the month of October," Shane Allen, a certified personal trainer, sports nutritionist, and weight loss specialist in Dallas, Texas, told Medical Daily in an email. The bright orange winter fruit — seeds and all — is nutritionally dense, with lots of fiber, vitamin A, carotenoids, and good fats.

Did you know pumpkin seeds help your sight, your sleep, weight loss, lowers blood pressure? Check out the article.

What's your favorite way to eat pumpkin? Do you just use pumpkins as a door stop?

do you like your pumpkin pie plain? With whipped cream? Ice cream?

If I eat mine with whipped cream it has to be real cream - can not stand whipped topping (what is that anyway?)

well, a pumpkin will probably start growing in your belly. Like watermelon seeds. ;D

Pumpkin is wonderful. I love pumpkin cookies, pie, uhmm... and other pumpkin related things.

Ryvvi was horrified that we didn't use pumpkin as a savory food item. I have never had pumpkin in a savory form. Australians. >.>

Mousy: I've known seeds to grow in the belly  they just keep growing and growing...

Ryvvi: Savory foods like roasted with a balsamic type sauce? In stews?

Monkeygirl: If you check out the top of my thread you will see pumpkin seeds are very good for you. I like the seeds roasted and lightly salted. Now they are putting flavor on the seeds. Probably not as good for you that way. I don't like the pumpkin seeds still in the shell( like sunflower seeds) it takes too much effort to eat them that way and hurts my tongue.

I think that's how I have them but seeing as I'm always busy carving the pumpkin while someone else makes them, idk for sure
