They write for themselves.
That's what I would guess. Honestly there are tons of great writer sites.
Plus, If you write for NanoWrimo, you can win prizes. And not stupid prizes either.
I think if you win Nano you can get your book published.

I suppose if you really wanted to you could self publish. I met some people who have done non-fiction and self publish and have their books on AMazon and at Barnes and noble book store where people can buy it online but then I think you really have to promote your book yourself for sales. One tried to send a copy to Oprah for her book review show and a few other places but there are few who accept unsolicited books and end up returning the package unopened - especially if you send it book rate - dead give away.

Honestly, publishing a book is the last thing I want.
And i really would hate if my book was popular. I have social anxiety and going to events where I sign
books for people would be so nerve-wracking for me..I'd constantly be having anxiety attacks because strangers
are coming up to me for me to sign their book..

I think if you brought a friend or family member and were sitting behind a table it wouldn't be so bad - but I agree, if you become too popular then you lose your privacy and I wouldn't like that.
But the more I think of it the more I kind of like the idea of self publishing something and it isn't an outrageous cost anymore.
Come to think of it, the local school had a fundraiser of printing recipes for a cook book and someone else I met printed her poems.I'll have to ask her again about how much it costs, I can't remember if it is printed on demand .
And I just remembered someone else I know who is a nurse and wrote a book to help people cope that are in the hospice situation where their loved ones are dying. I am sure there are probably people around you that have been doing the same thing that you could ask. You don't HAVE to go to book signing events, especially when books can be sold online now.I don't think they have made a ton of money off their books but I have bought their's because I know them and you may sell some that way too.

I just don't want my book to be popular. I don't want to be a professional writer I really don't.
the privacy thing isn't an issue. all they'd see is i'm a hermit really.

I had a poem published in a book when i was in the 5th grade.
I don't want to self publish or be published at all.

There are tons of self publishing places actually.

wrote a new story after a 2 year hiatus.
So now I am excited to work on chapter 2. Though chapter 2 definitely needs to be longer than chapter 1.

I'd rather it be private, but I will tell you one thing; it's a story based on my favourite fairytale; Little Red Riding Hood, and she's an assassin.

That is also one of my favorite fairy tales/folklores.

Mine is based off an old shipping pairing which both characters belong to me.
I wrote about them before. But this is kind of like..5 years later from the previous story.

I have so many ideas all the time. which is both a blessing, and a curse; blessing because I'm forever thinking up new stories and things, curse because I can never focus on one story for long, because my mind is filled with new ideas.
