Last mall I went to was not doing very well. But it's been struggling for 30+ years cuz of a different mall
The one I went to, most of the storefronts were empty. Seems that ever since the Super Flea was closed, most went to said one, took over one of the stores, and became a co-op. I actually got a painting of a geisha there, then went to Michael's and got the whole thing reframed. Kinda had to, as the backing of the old frame was shredded to bits. As in the framer, after I removed the wrapping, winced. "I can save the glass" he said. "Naw, might as well go the whole hog" "okiedokie"
So new glass, new frame, new backing. And other customers called the painting pretty
I got a few other things at the co-op too
But the only reason we even stopped at the mall, dad and me was cuz Sears was closing and we wanted to see what they had left. Had a nice body mannequin for making clothes, but it was already sold. Oh well
Oh, and the new mall? It's on a swamp. That wasn't properly drained to save money. It has sinkage problems. And sinkholes inside. Basically everyone who had to build that mall banned their families from going there it's that unsafe. And yet it's still booming
