Apparently they also bite, cuz bee guy has stories about ball hornets

And so far as we can tell ball hornets don't hide in any little crevices or anything, they flat out make their own nests. Either way once these ones are confirmed dead I am NOT the one knocking them down

Yeah I kinda missed counting a page, which prolly didn't help lol

Supervisor was running around informing people of how much vacation and state pto they had left cuz fiscal year changes September and it's use it or lose it
So tomorrow (Friday) I'll be leaving two hours early and I don't go back into work until Thursday. Which is great cuz all next week my lead will be off so it's gonna be a mess
By my understanding he always holds a week of vacation time to use around his birthday, which is, iirc, Sunday
But I'll finally get actual vacation time (how I'm supposed to use four hours idk) but if I can, between the two I can get the week of my birthday off (which is a holiday week and therefore shorter) as well as the few days between Christmas and new years and still have 30 hours of the state time left

State stuff is 56 hours mandated by law that's separate from whatever the company offers. It's meant to be a counter against attendance hits for doctor visits and the like
So I don't have any company vacation time yet, but I have 22 hours of the state time still
And while it does get used as intended, the vagueness in the wording means people will use it like actual vacation time. I did that last year to take the days between Christmas and new years off without losing holiday pay

Technically
At the change it goes back to 56 hours, so if you've got something like 30 hours left you lost it. At least where I work
I believe dad's job rolls it over up to a certain amount, but that might be just their separate vacation time

I use vacation pay to supplement income on weeks I don't work enough hours... I use it on the half days to fill up the day... but still am supposed to technically fill in a leave slip.

I don't get paid national holiday, have to use my vacation pay for those days. oh well, at least I have it to use.

Do you do birthday celebrations at work during the breaks for each other?

We have holiday pay per our contract

The only birthday that gets celebrated is major ones for the company
Only other "celebration" is pizza when we hit x million sprayers made. We recently had the 5 million sprayer party

All dead. Still not letting the cats out until the nests are removed
