Most of its just work. I'm burnt out because of how much overtime they making me do. They had me working 2 weeks straight, no day off. Well, 2 weeks minus a day since they gave us our holiday back and had the weekend off. It wasn't long enough. I have to work Saturday and everything is going chaotic at work rn.

And to spice it up, I lost a friend and that just made things worse. (I don't mean we got into a fight and stopped being friends. The other meaning.) I'm fine, now. But for 2 days, at work, I couldn't stop crying. I thought work would distract me, but nope...

So many things stacked on another is a lot. Try to look at the positives. Overtime for example will be a much larger pay check and with tax relief on that, it'll be a nice addition to your bank account.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Loss is most difficult in human experience so it's totally understandable. I'm guessing this was surprise. Those are the worst.

Hugs.

Yeah, i found out about it while scrolling Facebook on break at work. We hadn't talked in a while and I had "taken a break" from her posts (taking a break from someone on Facebook is not blocking, but it keeps you from seeing their posts.) I had done that because her mental health was spiraling and she was posting things that were a bit too much for me. She had dealt with worsening mental health issues for the past few years. She was pretty much a different person than who I became friends with because of how severe her mental health issues were. I had thought about her constantly, wishing she'd start getting better. I hated having to distance myself from her, but I needed to take care of my mental health and being around her doesn't really help. (I'm not blaming her. She never chose what she went through.) I just didn't feel like I could be as good of a friend during those times. I had been dealing with depression and all sorts of shit. I hoped to have one day be able to reconnect with her, but it can't happen now. But I knew I had to be there for her funeral service, I didn't want to miss it, I still considered her my friend, even if I did have to distance myself for sake of my mental health. A person with mental health issues can't really be that good of help to someone else who also has mental health issues. (Hers was way different from mine. And way more severe.)

I just got off work, though, and am starting my week long vacation.

It sounds like you are going through a difficult & frustrating time & even though it is overwhelming you are managing to keep it all in perspective.
A loss is always emotional & tragic, focus on the good in the relationship you had.

What a relieve to be getting a vacation after working so much! Hope you have some fun things planned but also some relaxing things to do.

I'm so sorry about it all. Part of adulting is understanding that there are broken people that can never be fixed or healed. It sound like it wasn't getting better for your friend and getting worse will only be bad/worse for them. So many times when people go, you realize after (sometime way later) that it was for the best.

Funerals do provide closure (for better or worse). Just be aware that having down time will allow the mind to go to uncomfortable places. It's OK. It's all part of the process.

Enjoy your vacation!

As an aside, there's been a lot of research into the connection between your gut biome and depression and anxiety. Our food supply in the US has been hurting all of us.

I'm so sorry you went through all that. I'd offer wisdom or advice, but I don't think I know any ways to make things like this easier. So instead I'll offer my companionship and friendship and company. If you need to just vent to anyone without wanting advice, I'm willing to be there to listen
