Is dad's birthday. Mom sent my brother n me a text with cake instructions. Slightly different between store-bought and homemade (frosting). I got him a small one and the woman at the bakery was CACKLING when I told her to write OLD on it. Let her pick the color and everything, she went blue and as big and bold as she could get
Mom got a laugh out of it when she saw. Dad got a good chuckle from it, and called it better than the cake one of my cousins gave him yesterday (box mix)
Is a small cake, with the requirements mom gave it was that or a half sheet and that would've been way too much

Good the parents got the joke, good sense of humor.

I prefer a more homemade buttercream flavored icing ( some of the store bought are too chemically tasting) but my favorite is whipped cream on a cake.

Yeah for store-bought dad prefers a whipped cream frosting. I'm not a frosting fan myself, I have to be in the mood for it

Cool! I think that qualifies as a milestone (round numbers). According to AARP, that'd qualify as OLD, but not quite OLD FOGEY... yet.
(Or what ever you young whippersnappers call it now. Get off my lawn!)

In all seriousness, it sounds like his health is good and he's loved. Those are the top hard ones you can't buy. Happy, Happy Birthday to him and best wishes for the year ahead!!

I'm with you guys. Most "whipped cream" on store-bought are more like frosting... not a fan of frosting either.

First snowfall yesterday

There was a post on some website about a cake that said "you've aged" and someone commented "adding a 'well' might help" meaning to put "you've aged well" but then someone commented with "Well, you've aged" lol



Also first snowfall last night here as well
