Yuck
I'm full-time, so as long as I work the day before and the day after I get holiday pay. If vacation time is scheduled ahead of time and attached to a holiday, the day before or after, depending on which, is the counter
Temps don't get holiday pay though, we had one who didn't get the christmas holiday as a result but the company bought out her contract early so she could get it for new years

Least it's not an event where I'd really be sad at myself for missing a day

Anyway was out with my friend, she was getting a tat done, wanted someone with her for the ride. She appreciated the fact that I told her to get her truck warming up and be out there sooner than she planned on cuz it was gonna be an ice block like the car. It broke my ice scraper rip
On the way back to her apartment she had to slam the brakes as deer jumped out in front of us. One slammed into her truck and went to the other side of the road, and despite all the warnings, the other person was not paying attention and slammed into the deer at minimum 55mph. That deer went airborne!
We both pulled over, she called her fiance, he fixed the dent in her front panel that kept her door from opening, she really needs to fix the driver side light alignment now, the other person dipped before the police were called for a report, and since they hit it head on, they had a light bucket broken and so much worse damage than what my friend had
Ended up asking dad to restock my fire cuz of how long that delay was
Would've hit a deer on my way home myself except it decided to wait until the car was at a full stop before crossing, how nice of that one
I'm okay, my friend is okay. She's gonna go back in a couple of months for another session, they ended today's cuz she was getting really tender. I got some art done, another closer to being finished. All in all, an eventful day

Whoa! what an experience! Glad you are both safe but sad her vehicle was damaged. I don't think car insurance pays for that do they?

We get the occasional deer cross, or not cross & end up on the side of the road... that and racoons, opossum...squirrel's ....

The other car got it bad and they dipped like idiots

I see so many dead animals on the side of the road, knowing they got hit the night before. crazy.
