I spent time with my family for the holidays. My sister, who moved out and lives with her husband, didn't join us. I haven't spoken to her in a good while. Not that we don't want to she just... makes it difficult. Woke up today and went to check on the stray. I was worried because of all the shots being fired when the new year hit but thankfully he's okay. I made sure to feed him and then I put a warm blanket on the bench he likes to sleep on. Also, my Ex keeps chatting me up on the gram and I dunno how to feel about it. (I think I mentioned this before but I forget.)

wingsoflove ... asking you or anyone else who wants to respond to me! I have never owned a soda stream but I have people I know who have them. I don't drink soda very often because I am not one to drink carbonated drinks. The carbonation is suppose to be bad for the bones & bone density issues run in my family so I don't want to chance making my health worse. But I know people who love sparkling water , does your soda machine carbonate plain water?

JinMay, hmm I don't think you had mentioned about your boyfriend, the last I had heard you were still trying to work the long distance part out - but you can PM me if you want since it is private.
So sweet of you to take care of the cat! I get it with family, I had drama with my own this holiday, in the sense of them trying to draw me in & be upset when I hadn't even been privy to the conversation. So I told one in particular to speak directly to the person who upset them & let then know they were upset by their being insensitive. However, I am also now on the "slighted' side. Sad really.

One thing I dislike a lot about the holiday season is having to socialize with people who you basically only ever chat with during the holidays


Like "how have you been since we spoke last?" Oh, you mean since a year ago? Or like "how's the (blank) been?" You mean the thing I briefly mentioned when you last asked about my life a year ago and either is done or has been going on for a year with many ups and downs and I'd therefore difficult to describe in such a short meeting?


Plus my social battery starts running out. On the second last day I was at my aunt's I literally had to just escape to the basement as soon as I saw the opportunity at one point because I was overwhelmed


I'm not saying all this to complain (ok, maybe a little), I'm just saying I understand how family stuff can get to you, even without drama!

Sometimes we all need a quiet space during the social holidays to recharge.
I work in a customer service occupation so I tend to get exhausted at the holidays ... I enjoy socializing but I have my limits too.

I am impressed though if people remember something you said from a year ago, Npix!
