Hmmm that's an idea ... see if any local specialty stores will let you sell some on commission with them.

Whoops, I didn't intend to misrepresent myself! I was thinking about cosplays when I said it, because that's usually who wanted them, and that's what they call it (I've done it for myself for this reason, as well). I have not (to my knowledge) had any of my work in any kind of production bigger than a child's play. How would I get the attention of production willing to let me make things for them on their own budget? Would you know?

Oh!! I'd forgotten entirely about consignment shops! That _is_ an idea. I'll have to mull that one over more.

Plays are a good place to start. Look for student, school, church, and indie productions. Events and music acts sometimes need props. Shows (industry and fan) have needs too. Find them, ask questions and if something tickles your creative side tell them you make props and would like to help. Once you get a couple done, people will remember you. You can then approach ad agencies and marketing companies to let them know you're available. This leads to print, web, and tv. Tv leads to movies. If you're creative it's wide open if you hit the right ratio (quality, speed, cost).

Cosplay online sales works too!
Anime expo a used to have decent prices for their craft vendor tables but I haven't gone in a long time & now looking into it seems like they are pricey - although it does include two badges which are a few hundred dollars themselves.
"Anime Expo (AX) Artist Alley tables typically cost between $600 and $700+ for a standard table package. This fee generally includes one 6-foot or 8-foot table, two chairs, and two artist badges. Due to high demand, applications are competitive and require a California seller's permit"

But maybe worth checking out? Go to an expo as a visitor & talk to the vendors & see what they recommend?

This is all excellent advice, and I shall add it to my plans. Which I need to write down in my binder I got the other day. I have pencils and note paper and everything.

Thank you all so much for providing emotional support and actionable advice!

Keep us posted!

I find paper is the right thing for me for most important lists. It's tactile and satisfying scratching things off the list and throwing (recycling) the paper out when the list is completed! :cheer:

Indeed

Fair, but I have so many notes that phone is easier for me
To each their own, though!
