Lemon! Aww yeah time differences make it difficult to be on at the same time but I'm alright and I hope that you are as well? I really miss you.

JinMay : Time differences but also differences of availability.

I have been trying to transplant my succulents to fill in some bare areas lately. I have an older friend ( I think she will be 94 this year ??) who brings me cuttings from her garden so I look for places to put them! Sometimes i put small ones in some dirt in a glass or dessert dish & make a little succulent garden for inside.
I went to a Farmers market & there was a guy selling so many succulents & cacti I had never seen before, quite a variety. They were mostly mini sizes so I have no idea as to how tall they could actually grow. He sells them for $2 each, I guess if a person can't get them very easily that is a fair price? Its fun looking at them. My friend I went with & I were "ohhing & ahhing."

I worked the Saturday of the long weekend but I did have Sunday Monday off so that was nice.

Don't overwork yourself, but glad to hear you are enjoying this job. Is there a way for you to wrok up to manager - or would you even want the headaches from that position!?

Npix, you can always choose a different day to celebrate with friends.
Maybe you can do an online game or something with them?
Anything in particular you would like to do to celebrate?

Aww that sounds like a lot of fun though!
Super cute too. Haha And I think two dollars is a really good price for desert plants since they usually go for much more in general stores.

Mm, I think there is? I mean, as long as you work there enough years, you know?

Hey JinMay!
I was just checking on Windlyn before I headed out to work to day.

Do you think you might want to get "promoted" or are you happy/content with the position you are in ?

Hello Lemon, I hope you have a great day at work today!

I would love to get promoted if the opportunity ever presented itself.
I do like the position I have right now but I'm always happy to grow and learn new things. I think it would be pretty fun to learn new tasks and to be able to help out more.

Hopefully that will come true for you then ! It is possible!

But I am happy you have a place to work that you enjoy & that you feel challenges you in a good way. Makes the drudge of having to earn a living worth it when you have a place that you like to work.
It wasn't that many years ago you were searching for work.
And think of all the insight & experience you are getting!

I am supposed to have this Saturday off so I am hoping to get caught up on my weeding, especially since today we actually got some rain!

I hope your health issues are still under control. I am inspired how you don't let them hold you back.

Enjoy your day!

Aww thanks Lemon, you're always so kind. I appreciate you!
I had yesterday and today off. But I work tomorrow and Saturday which is fine. I'll have to buy another pencil case because mine broke when I got home on Tuesday. It fell onto the porch and the lid broke off. :(
It wasn't super pricey but I had decorated it with stickers. So I'm bummed out about that. I'll try to save the stickers if I can though.

My health has been pretty good. Got my medication refills for free so that's nice!

You enjoy your day too!

Definitely, the younger kids, even the one that is level two autism, have been so helpful so far. Diana has tried, but she needs help helping and is quick to get frustrated and give up. But Gareth has been helping her help out. He's a good kid. They all are. They've been given things like cleaning up their rooms, the living room floor, their stuff, washing their own dishes, and Gareth's been doing most of the things like cleaning the bathroom, taking care of me. And when I am like, "I'm thirsty." The kids fight to see who's getting me the drink lol.
Radioactive Iodine therapy is gonna suck. It's a pill, and I have to stay in the hospital for the first three days, then I'll be released, but I'll need to isolate from others for 1-2 weeks. : / I wish it'd turn me into a super hero! I could be ALLIGATOR MAN!! Since those are my favorite animals, I'd wanna be an alligator super hero! haha~!

How is everyone? I can barely talk, so I'm glad we're typing! : P

Shamus, its difficult for kids to see their parent suffering & I would think it brings some anxiety - because the Parent is supposed to be taking care of them, right? But it sounds like you have your kids looking out for each other & giving them household chores, bring you a drink, gives them a way to feel like they are being supportive during this difficult time in all your lives.

I didn't realize the radiation therapy makes you radioactive until my Sister did treatments for cancer & she said she had to limit contact & have her own bathroom etc from her husband & kids. Gnarly stuff.
The throat cancer treatments I was told by a friend are like an extremely painful tonsilitis. He could hardly talk at all & for awhile carried around a mini white board to write down what he wanted to say. I think for awhile he had the machine you hold to your voice box so you can speak or he would type it on the phone & have it speak out for him. With voice therapy he has been regaining his voice & has been "cancer free" for 2 years now I think. Hopefully you won't have to struggle with your voice quite so much but there are options & there is hope for recovery if you do. You won't be able to yell at the kids - maybe get a dollar store hand bell to ring to get their attention! (Or a blow horn if they are squabbling, that's a joke).
Sending good thoughts your way for a speedy recovery.

Shamus, kids will be kids, no kid is "perfect" but it sounds like you have raised kids that have some empathy & have a willingness to look beyond themselves & help out.

I wish you a speedy recovery.
