Had half my annual (is over two different days this time cuz the echo and ekg like to be very slow in giving out results) today and I know there was at least one line change today that involves a screen change ahahahaha

They'll realize how valuable you are! That's the curse of being good at your job--no one really appreciates how much you do until you're not there!

Oh they're already aware, this stuff is why so many are pushing to get a second/backup for me n the material handler, to prevent this sort of situation
Or at least lessen the chances of it happening

So one of the two who had been printers before we merged shifts was asked to stay a bit and cover me. Apparently he stayed the entire shift, likely due to at least one line changing. And since he's trained to material handler (he's in shipping), he helped with that too
And the other apparently whacked something with his forklift. Again. And didn't report it. Superintendent nicknamed him "Crash" and, well, yeah. So instead of firing him, he got a year-long ban from the forklift and is either being sent to metals or coming to second, I've heard both
No one knows what the hell is going on, if they're gonna make second permanent again, or if we'll go back to first. Considering how many people both shifts have, we're gonna have several more people than we need, so who really knows at this point. One guy I figure will be gone, he's a temp and notorious for being late, if he even bothers showing up. Another isn't much better with his attendance, plus he and another were supposed to interview for a shipping position today, but since both called in (or at least didn't show), both auto-failed

It doesn't sound like their CEO management has much foresight.

So sorry to hear you have to be working in a stressful work environment, but good you can adapt & survive there!
