I should probably run screaming, but instead that sounds so cool. XD I took a Phonology/Morphology class in college that was awesome (though very hard >.>).

What prompted you to take that class? Just for fun, or relevant to your major/minor?

Sort of for fun, I guess? I didn't find out until my senior year that I could minor in linguistics, and by then, it was too late. I'd taken Intro to Linguistics the previous year or something like that because I needed a filler class and it looked interesting, and then it was like wow, I love all of this.

So Phonology and Morphology was interesting because it was half anthropology majors who were really into it and half English majors who were like "frick, I need another class," and then a couple people like me who had other majors, but just liked linguistics. XD

(I also took Sociolinguistics, which was really interesting.)

Ah, cool. I was wondering, since the intro ling class (at my uni, anyway) tended to have lots of students from other programs, but they are getting pretty sparse in the 2nd and 3rd year classes, haha.

Socioling is super interesting, yeah. I wish there were more classes in that area offered at my school, tbh.

Aha yeah, there weren't very many people in mine either... XD So is your major linguistics then? Because that's really cool. Mine was psychology.

We only had the one class, which I was sad about, because yeah, that was really interesting.

Yeah. Technically a dual major, because my school divides theoretical and applied linguistics into separate programs and I'm majoring in both, but yeah.

Psychology sounds really cool, too. I haven't actually taken any psych courses at all. :'D What made you decide to choose that for your major, if you don't mind me asking?

That is so cool. My university had a ridiculous lack of linguistics courses. ;_; The only way you could do anything with it was to minor in it. Which my Phonology & Morphology professor was really annoyed about.

I actually wanted to major in psychology since eighth grade. Because of a book I read that starred a forensic clinical psychologist, and I thought it sounded really amazing. And then I just got really interested in learning about mental illness and how the mind works. My mum kept telling me I should major in English because I really like English/literature/etc. but I was like noooo, I want Psychology, always Psychology. XD
