There must be added stress with people wondering how much longer they will be able to keep their positions if Kmart goes under. I feel for you, been there trying to live on a budget of less hours. Fortunately I was able to supplement with vacation pay.

Work went messy today actually lol
I ended up getting off half an hour late because of a situation that arose with a pretty unhappy customer
and didn't help that another customer was being a dick WHILE I'm in the middle of trying to resolve the other problem with my managers. Took 2 managers, me, and another dude to get things through the first customer's head cause they were pissed that I followed our policy

Yeah
pretty much, I denied this woman a sale because she was using her husband's credit card without him there, for a purchase over $50.
She was enraged. Left, got him, came back, shouted at us "Why did you deny me?" even though I explained already when I did it XDD
Took all 4 of us to take turns explaining it a million times, then they're like, "Well I've always been doing this, I always spend more than $50 with this card here"
DO YOU THINK THAT CHANGES OUR RULES?

that just means someone didn't follow the rules you dipstick xD

It actually didn't frustrate me as much as usual though cause I KNEW I did nothing wrong, and my coworkers were funny about it after they left finally.

I dont think they realise that the ruder they are, the more the story about them is going to be passed around as a funny anecdote after they leave
I had one couple once, who were given the wrong smokes (from the same chain, but a different store) and like the error was on the servers end, except once smokes leave the store we are not under any circumstances allowed to swap/refund/ANYTHING with those smokes
and like they could not get that
half an hour of my manager arguing with them and they eventually left in a huff to go complain at the other store, the one they originally bought it at D<

The first manager that was helping us was actually a manager in training (which is why we had two managers helping toward the end, cause she was getting overwhelmed)
and after everything she was all
"Was I OK? Did I sound like I knew what I was talking about? I felt like I was all *makes derpy sounds* did I sound professional?" and my coworker John was like "I was even shaking in my boots!"

I think that kinda made it all better for me, just like I wasn't the only one who was thinking, DID I SOUND LIKE A MORON OR-
cause situations like these always make me sooo nervous

was right after I denied the sale, I had to go fix everything at the service desk, but at my register was my former coworker coming up all "HEYY DID YOU FORGET ME" and I haven't seen him in almost a year I wanted to say hi ;A;
but I was all bleh
