Have you ever seen a savannah cat? They're beautiful - a mix between a wild african cat and a domestic cat. They're expensive and (once again) illegal in my state.
I'm not an insect person either, however, I once found a small (perhaps 1/8") hairy spider on the hood of our car and about to squish it when I noticed it could see me as it would react as I got closer to it. It moved very quickly and was shaped more like a crab than the typical long legged spider. It wasn't afraid and I could swear it was curious. Well, I didn't have the heart to kill it at that point. So I found a small twig and put it down and it just ran up on it and sat on the end. I brought it outside to a tree and it climbed off. A spider like that could be a pet.
Those savannah cats are beautiful, but they're kind of scary too. I can see why they're illegal.
