VOCALOID is a singing voice synthesizer, aka a software that enables people who use to to "sing" by inputting lyrics and a melody. They're kinda like "singers in a box" that replace real-world singers. The voices for each vocaloid are provided by a real-life voice actor/actress, however.
Voice banks were originally just in English, but have since expanded with Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean voice banks!
What are some examples of vocaloids?
WELL! My personal favorite is MEIKO, one of the first Japanese VOCALOIDs alongside KAITO, her masculine complimentary voice bank. There are many, many, many more VOCALOIDS to discover!

For now, any and every existing vocaloid is free game for y'all to cosplay. If you really, really want to, you could claim a single vocaloid for your own in this thread. Though, it'd also be fun to have a try at everything and see how other people might interpret Rin, Len, Miku, etc. Vocaloid songs would be really cool, too!
You could also create your own VOCALOID OC (Original Character) if you'd like! Post their bio and a picture down below, and tell us what kind of genre of songs they'd sing, their likes and dislikes, and anything else that might cross your mind. Here's a little guide in case you get stuck:
