Are you still having the flu like symptoms? Not from mold or a tick bite is it? I hope you feel better soon Akuyi! Japan would be amazing! What's the best weather months for traveling there?

Hmm my doctor and me are guessing it's a house dust allergy and I'm getting encasings for my bedsheets and stuff. They'll be delivered today. We're gonna have to see of it helps. :)

I don't really know what the best season is but the cherry blossoms must be super pretty in Japan so maybe spring? :D

You can get tested to see what you actually have allergies to. They do little pin pricks on your skin & see how you react.

My Doctor suggested changing the pillowcases out every day during allergy season and shower at night to wash the allergens off...especially in the hair so that you are not laying in it and rubbing your face on it...but I found I can change my pillow cases once a week if I shower & wash my hair every night.

You can fluff your pillows and quilts in the dryer as well. If you have a cloth head board then keep it vacuumed because it collects a lot of dust. The problem is dust is EVERYWHERE!

Try a little vasseline inside the nose to keep the pollens/dust from going further in.

There also are air filters you can get to help trap the dust/allergens.

Good luck!

Yes, I did an allergy test, but there was no strong reaction for anything, only a weak one for house dust. So we're not entirely sure if that's the cause, but it's worth trying out. Since there is no real season for house dust, I dunno how helpful that is, but I definitely do not want to change the pillow cases every day.

The thing with the vasseline sounds interesting, maybe I'll try that.

And I haven't tried using antihistamines cause I don't really have a strong allergic reaction. But maybe I can try if it helps when I'm feeling down. Image

Is it something you have always suffered with or more so since moving into your own place?

Are you sneezing...runny nose kind of thing or itchy eyes? Are the symptoms worse when you are laying in bed?

Uh, since I was around 14, so for a longer time already. And no, my nose is perfectly fine. My eyes do itch sometimes, but mostly just in the summer and when I'm outside, not inside. My symptoms are regular sore throat and getting sick with viruses or the flu often. Generally feeling down and/or tired a lot, slightly raised temperature. Could just be that the allergy is not strong enough to show the normal symptoms but still having a toll on my immune system. That's what we're guessing at least. If the encasements don't work out, we'll need to do more investigation.

Have you been tested for streptococcus ? Your body can harbor it & it flares when your immunity system is down. You also could struggle with epstein-barre which also can flare up when you are stressed or run down. But you need to ask for a blood test (not a finger prick or throat swab) for checking that & there are 4 tests to be done.

I think that was part of the test yeah. And they found nothing in my blood.
