I was just watching out for Gizzie, Npix.
Always good not to give too much personal information. There are bots everywhere.

Well, bots mining Windlyn. We've seen a 10 fold increase in the last few months. I've been trying to keep up by tagging them, but there are a few new ones every single time I check.

Are the bots the random new users with usernames like TimeShare9100 (just an example) and their profiles include links to websites of similar names?

The ones that register are humans looking for a SEO boost. They've all been from countries known for that (Nigeria, India, etc.).
The bots we're seeing are crawlers. They're not bad other than taking up bandwidth and CPU resources, and not contributing to the community. The server is pretty robust by design (hardened) and I keep it up to date with the latest.
The bots can only "see" what other non-registered lookie-loos can see--so no sensitive info is exposed. But as always, like anytime you use the nets, don't post anything you don't want known. The old the internet is forever thing!

Things getting more difficult to get rid of unwanted bots lurking here and there. Too bad, you can't automatically booted them off.
