Maybe I'm bit of a humbug, but it seems to me all holidays have become about things to buy and overpay for...

and I find it interesting how many holidays involve drinking. Then again sports like fishing, golf, etc., are all excuses to drink too! ;)

I Shall Engrave wrote:Good, for the most part. I went to my first Oktoberfest. It was not as great as I was expecting. A lot of drunk people in a small space playing poorly made games and listening to blasting German folk music. The beer was very good, just overpriced.

Lol, I don't know why, but the thought of drunk people playing crappy games with German folk music playing cracks me up.

I kinda want to try my first taste of beer when I turn 21 in February and Idk why. >3>

I have no plans. I'm probably just going to go out to eat.

21 is a milestone for me because I'll legally be allowed to do everything I wanted (that I have probably already been doing.)

I want to do a *hook suspension to celebrate mine.

I had to google book suspension, but I'm still not sure what it is. Is that a book mobile? (The kind that hangs from the ceiling--not the library on wheels--although that would be really cool!) :)

Haha I totally meant to write HOOK. My autocorrect is a little strange sometimes. I'm going to correct that now.

Book suspension should totally be a thing.

I need to reorganize my bookshelves, maybe add some of my favorites titles.

With technology and social media available, people don't do much reading anymore, at least not in my college. I still actively use the library.

There's an old addage: You need to read if you want to write. ;)

I try to read a variety of books - not just entertaining things that I find interesting. We have a lot of Russian classics at home as well as instructional books for computers.

Audio books are good if your eyes are tired and you just want to sit and relax and listen - the library rents them if you don't want to purchase them. Whatever happened to people sitting and reading aloud to each other? Actually, that makes me wonder... is there any "you tube" read alouds?
