vve bought a lot of chocolate and cookies i might try and bake some cookies m'self

We mostly just have gingerbread for cookies, the rest is candy, fruits and nuts.

Kinda grew out of the candy on Christmas thing...

Why? It is a good excuse to make candy one normally can't get ones hand on and one is never too old for candy.

Not really sure since we just get stuff for our stocking. I'm not allowed to know what it is.

Stocking? What do you mean with that?

Heh heh. We have Christmas stockings! You know, hang them from your chimney, or something, and you put small things in them. Comes with the term stocking stuffers.

It's an English Christmas tradition that is popular here in America. Kind of like how the Germans and Dutch leave their shoes by the door for Schwartze Pete and St. Nicklaus.

But why put candy in them? Isn't candy supposed to be enjoyed together with family and friends, preferably in front of a big television with good movies showing.

Yes. But it is an ancient tradition. And you get presents in them too. Like gift cards and small things.
