So a stupid threat was posted on a bathroom wall, and after the Oregon shooting of all times.
The same thing happened this past February.
Last year, they didn't cancel classes, only the teachers decided to and NOTHING HAPPENED!
Last year, they were like "Be (University Initials) STRONG!"
This year, they cancel classes. So much for their motto.
I believe that both times is because they want to get out of midterms. And for a full week's Fall Break for this time 'round as well.
Then, I get an email saying my dorm will stay open.
Then at 6:30pm, I get a knock on the door saying that I should've been out of there by now, asking if I went to the floor meeting.
I say no because I didn't hear a knock at the door for I was either asleep or on the phone in a room within a room and my bedroom door was shut. They decided to close the dorm because of low numbers and want to keep the students safe. I understand, they want to keep the students all together in a building if almost EVERYONE went home. Campus is extremely dead right now, bad words to use but whatever.
Not to mention, if something did go wrong, the state police is stationed ON CAMPUS so they could get there in less than a minute.
So, I'm temporarily back in the dorm I started the year in, I HATE IT!

But what's worse? They sent the email saying that the dorms were closing at 9:45pm AFTER IT AL HAPPENED! My University makes some stupid choices. Or just my RHC (Resident Hall Coordinator) who sent that email.

So, I don't have food because I had to leave my frozen meals behind, the room I'm staying in has no mini fridge because I believe they took it out because they weren't expecting this and this dorm is getting torn down in the spring semester, in February. And that mini fridge would have a tiny, if any, freezer space in it. Not enough room for my frozen meals. So I had to go get snacks and stuff and have to eat in the cafeteria for a week.

What? If you are still in a dorm then why couldn't you stay in your new room? Can you just go back into it? I'd try and protest somewhere and tell them you will sign a waiver or something if they let you back in. What did your sister do?

Because 99% of the dorm and campus went home and they're trying to get everyone close together to make sure people are safe.

I couldn't even open the front door of the dorm they temporarily moved me into.

I decided to go home.

My sister had to stay because she had to work.

Yup, the cafeteria is open, but I don't work there. That's not the food court for which I work.

they should give you back a week's room and board for having to leave... does this mean you have to go a week longer or are they doing "online classes" for this week?

Classes are cancelled, it's up to the professors to leave homework.
