You'd probably think it wasn't ripe but you would be in for a very pleasant surprise.

I saw an article that said if you cut into a watermelon & the rind foams along the cut don't eat it as you could get sick.

Apparently if watermelons get too hot they ferment... however I think when they transport them they don't refrigerate them... so how would you know buying one?

We once had a watermelon that we left out too long

My mom saw water around it on the counter and scolded my sister for leaving the counter wet

She then went to pick up the watermelon to wipe up the water

And it just apparently gooshed into water

Agreed. David Letterman had a segment on his show where they would throw fruit off of the top of a building and show it smashing on the street below. I never thought it was funny. A waste...
